I am Simon. I am Eleven. Months
Hello and welcome to another edition of the Monthly World Report by Simon!
Christmas is sneaking up on us quickly, so in the spirit of Christmas, here is my little stuffed Lamby and I in our little elf hats. Mommy sewed those up in about 10 minutes for the pic. She's amazing on a sewing machine.
I have lot of toys graciously given to me by my friends. Here I am in my play area concentrating with all my might on playing. It is HARD work! But someone in the house has got to do it. I make that sacrifice. But out of all these toys, my favourites are this yogourt container: ...and this apple juice jar. I also have a favourite pot, and I love soap. Oddly, none of my favourite toys are found in my play area. I discover new things by opening up cabinets. But one day these rubber things suddenly appeared on all the doors! It took about a week for me to figure out how to get rid of them. They taste good too. I love eating them. I'm also a daredevil. I climb onto my rocking Moose so I can see out of the window better. It's definitely not a steady platform to stand on but I have no problems finding my balance on it while it rocks. Yes, I'm super talented! If mommy tried this she'd probably get a concussion.I also love daddy's phone. It has a bunch of The Wiggles songs on it! He uses it to calm me down when I get too hyper, and he doesn't have anything else within reach. He says I get mesmerized by the Wiggles. I dunno, do I? What do YOU think? Here I am playing with my bum wipe container. Notice the S. It doesn't stand for Simon, it stands for Super. Like Superman. You'll see why in the next pic... ...because I've started FLYING!!! Daddy throws me across the room often so I can fly! Mommy got lucky and managed to catch me on film here. She's got great reflexes 'cause she caught me in flight... and as you know, I'm faster than a speeding bullet. Daddy says training starts early. He's already trying to teach me to handle hot foods to go with my Korean roots. First it was dashes of cayenne pepper in my lunch, and now it is Grace Hot Pepper Sauce straight from the bottle. Can you tell I just had a WONDERFUL nap?
In case you couldn't see in the last pic, here is a closeup! Severe bed head, and blanket marks all over my face. This month I've REALLY shown that I can stand all my myself without holding anything for support. I don't do it often, but my record this month is about 24 seconds standing fully on my own! Now I just gotta learn to walk! Mommy gave me a FORK to use this month! I instantly established myself as an expert at stabbing things with my fork. Just not with the right end. And I stab everything BUT my food.
I also made another discovery this month... the washer and dryer! They are magic. My really stinky diapers go in, and when they come out, they don't stink anymore. It's pure magic. Here I am saving the world from certain disaster by holding the door tightly shut. We don't want that diaper smell coming out before it's eradicated. Mommy has been trying to teach me to climb stairs for many many weeks, which I haven't been responsive to. So this month, I climbed my FIRST step! Actually, my first 12 steps! Yes, on my very first attempt at climbing stairs, I climbed the ENTIRE FLIGHT. Go BIG or go home!
And finally, we can't sign off without another bath shot! Here is my best gameshow host face.
Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed this month's edition of the Monthly World Report! Christmas will have passed by the next edition, so I wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Please say hello if you can! I look forward to talking to you all again in 2011!!!!
