I am Simon. I am Thirteen. Months.
Good day everybuddy!
A bit late, but here's the next installment of the Monthly World Report, by Simon!
Everybody's been so busy this last month, so it'll be a short one!
Mommy and Daddy thought it would be a fun idea to dress me up in the same outfit that I wore almost exactly a year ago on my birthday. It still fits! (barely!) Now I can be like Daddy, who still wears some of the same clothes he wore in 1985. Thankfully, they're only shirts he wears at home.
I wasn't too keen on getting my picture taken this month, as you can see...
Mommy calmed me down by playing a video of the Wiggles though:
And here is last year's version of the picture. They figured the bear would give an idea of how much bigger I am. I am so hulking HUGE compared to last year! (Though I'm still only around the 25th percentile for kids my age.. but the best things come in small packages, right?)
Mommy and Daddy are trying to teach me to play the piano. They keep pushing all the long black and white keys... but the REAL fun is pushing the tiny little buttons ABOVE the big keys. Maybe someday I can teach THEM how to play a piano.
This month I've learned how to point! Here, I'm telling daddy to turn off the kitchen light. It was bright in the kitchen, so we didn't need the light. I had to point at it for about 10 minutes before daddy figured out that I was trying to tell him to turn off the light. Finally he did, so then I allowed him to continue feeding me.
I was still getting some late birthday presents. The boxes are the best part! Who needs to open them?
One of my favourite ways to relax is to sit back and enjoy the smooth flavour of a nice mobile phone.
I've been playing with Mega Blocks. Here I am trying to figure out what to do with these darn blocks...
...and then suddenly I figured out that you can put them together! Look mom!!! I did it!!!
I have a thing for light switches. I'll climb on anything (and anyone) to get to a light switch, like my high chair for instance.
Daddy did my laundry, and these are all the socks that came out. He was grumbling something about them all having matching pairs when he put them into the machine... he wasn't very impressed that morning.
Here I am upstairs in my room, standing on a rocking chair, singing opera. The little lamb on the shelf is singing the harmony. I'm singing, "I'm the king of the castle" in G major, first movement. Andrea Bocelli is actually my understudy. I trained Luciano Pavarotti. Placido Domingo is my chauffeur.
I've been sick this month. Lots and lots of snot.
One of my favourite things to do now is to climb upstairs all by myself and look out the window to watch cars and people going by. If it were summer I'd be throwing water balloons.
Despite the -30C temperatures, I still demand a regular walk in the river valley.
I'm eating all kinds of food now! Mushed food, solid food, you name it! Especially non-food. My favourite entrées are plastic, wood, and paper. I also like chicken too, but only on the side.
I discovered how to pull out the sliding baskets this month! I also discovered this basket has all kinds of ziploc bags, rubber bands, twist ties, you name it! In addition, I also discovered that every day when I empty this basket and spread it's contents all over the house, like magic it all re-appears perfectly back into the basket in the morning before I wake up! It's hard work to keep spreading it all over the house every day, but somebody's gotta do it.
Mommy and Daddy decided to give me my FIRST haircut this month. And boy did I hate it. I cried. The electric trimmer freaks me out! But I endured. I took it like a man. A man who cries and sometimes needs his soother when he's REALLY REALLY upset. But what man doesn't?
Anyhow, that's the end of this month. Thanks for tuning in to this edition of the Monthly World Report! Please say hello below! I love you all!
Simon out.
