An Amazing April Jasper Wedding with Mandy and Brandon!
Jasper is my favourite place in the world! It's so gorgeous, and hasn't been over-commercialized. When Mandy contacted me to shoot her and Brandon's wedding in April, of course I jumped at the chance. But April in Jasper is a risky time; you have no idea what you'll get. Especially after this CRAZY winter we've had.
Well, fortuned smiled upon Mandy and Brandon (and me too) as Jasper was beautiful with no snow in the forecast, with most of it already gone from the ground. It was still chilly and quite windy, but a beautiful day regardless! The perfect stage was set!
The wedding was to take place at the Milligan Manor Cabin at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. I arrived the next day and took a deep breath of utter joy. A mountain view and a beautiful wedding. It doesn't get much better than this, does it?
Even their dog got dressed up in a Tux for the occasion! He was also the ringbearer. The ring ended up as a passenger for a rabbit chase or two, but at least it did arrive back in time for the actual ring exchange.
Mandy looked beyond stunning!
And Brandon looks pretty happy and pleased to be sealing the deal with such a girl. =) Congrats you two!!
Then came the photoshoot. Here are the guys. They are sans jackets because the girls usurped them to protect them from the brisk wind. Hahaha
But they did give up the jackets to take a snap or two! Thanks girls!
Standing above the amazing Athabasca River.
Instead of letting the wind get the better of us, we decided to try and take advantage of it. (Though it did eventually knock over my light stand and break some parts)
That's a good lookin' gang!
We decided to mix a slight industrial feel with the gorgeous mountains for the shoot.
Beautiful. End of story.
Taking a stroll along the river bank. With tons of rocks. In high heels. (You're awesome, Mandy!)
Sharing a moment.
And of course we had to get a sunglass shot!
Then onto the reception. These two were so cute, watching Mandy as she walked up to the restaurant, which was Villa Caruso. Great food and great staff!
The cake was amazing and very classy.
Hahaha and here is Brandon attempting to remove the top tier. It wasn't going so well, if you couldn't already tell from Mandy's expression. But no worries, professional help soon came along! (It tasted great too!)
So a HUGE congrats to you two, Mandy and Brandon! It was such a lovely wedding and I feel very lucky to have been a part of it. It was a beautiful wedding, in a beautiful location, and most importantly, with such beautiful people. And thanks for not complaining about the cold! =)
